There are some things that people should keep in mind about detox diets. First, not everyone can do a detox diet and this includes pregnant or nursing women and children. If you are diagnosed with anemia, eating disorders, autoimmune diseases, cancer, terminal illness, certain genetic diseases, diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid disease, and other chronic conditions you just have to try this diet under medical supervision.

Detox diet is a short term diet because if this is done for a long period of time, can lead to malnutrition especially protein deficiency, which is why it should only be done once or twice a year. For those who are taking medication, you should still continue to drink it unless advised by your doctor. After the detox diet is completed, you can return to your old eating habits with little changes like eating more fruits and vegetables.

Detox diet is very new, and even if there is little or no evidence that this diet effect, there are still those who are willing to try it if they believe that this can be good for them.
